Description
The route passes through the key historical centers of Uzbekistan and the Aral Sea region in the northwest of the country. It includes the ancient Silk Road cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, as well as the unique natural landscapes of the Ustyurt Plateau, Lake Sudochie and the Aral Sea area. The journey ends in Nukus, the cultural capital of Karakalpakstan.
This tour brings together Uzbekistan’s greatest cultural treasures and the dramatic history of the Aral Sea region. You will explore Old Tashkent with its Islamic relics and Chorsu Bazaar, Samarkand with Registan Square, Gur-Emir, Shakhi-Zinda and the Ulugbek Observatory, refined Bukhara with the Ark Fortress, Poi-Kalyan complex and the Emir’s summer palace, and Khiva’s Ichan-Kala with its palaces, minarets and mosques. The journey continues across the vast Ustyurt Plateau to Lake Sudochie, a yurt camp near the retreating Aral Sea, and Muynak with its Ship Cemetery. The tour concludes in Nukus with a visit to the Savitsky Museum. It offers deep immersion into Silk Road history and a rare encounter with the fragile beauty of Central Asian nature.
