The route passes through the key historical centers of Uzbekistan and the Aral Sea region in the northwest of the country. It includes the ancient Silk Road cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, as well as the unique natural landscapes of the Ustyurt Plateau, Lake Sudochie and the Aral Sea area. The journey ends in Nukus, the cultural capital of Karakalpakstan.

The journey continues across the vast Ustyurt Plateau to Lake Sudochie, a yurt camp near the retreating Aral Sea, and Muynak with its Ship Cemetery.
