Hazrat Daud Cave is located in a mountainous area not far from Samarkand, near the village of Aksay. The маршрут begins at the foot of the mountain at an elevation of about 980 meters above sea level. The summit, where the mosque and viewpoint are located, reaches approximately 1,280 meters.
From the top, visitors can enjoy wide panoramic views of the Samarkand valley and the surrounding hills. The landscape is characterized by rocky slopes, winding paths, and open mountain scenery. The cave itself lies below the viewpoint and is accessed by a staircase carved into the hillside.
Hazrat Daud Cave is one of the region’s revered pilgrimage sites. Visitors can reach the top of the mountain either by climbing more than 1,300 steps or by taking a horse or donkey along the mountain trail. At the summit, there is a mosque and a viewing platform offering impressive views of the valley below.
From the mosque, a staircase of about 200 steps leads down to the cave. Inside, a narrow tunnel guides visitors to the sacred imprints believed to be the handprints and footprints of Saint David. The site attracts both pilgrims and tourists, creating a unique atmosphere of spirituality and tranquility amid the mountain landscape.
